Champagne Mignon-Gentil

A little south of Épernay in the heart of Champagne's Grand Cru area, Côte des Blancs, lies the village of Avize. On the outskirts of the town, Champagne Mignon-Gentil is housed in a, for the region, classic two-story farmhouse. For generations, this has been the place where daily activities revolve around coaxing the surrounding fertile soils to yield their best for the empty bottles patiently waiting in the cellar.

Today, it is Jean-Louis Mignon and Francine Gentil who ensure that the empty bottles are filled with the best. Their two sons, Julien and Florent, are fully active and participate with the same dedication and enthusiasm as their parents. Both Francine and Jean-Louis are branches of two prominent champagne families, so they know exactly what they are doing, a fact evident from the moment you arrive until you leave after every visit.

The champagnes distinctly bear the imprint of the soils that strive each year to express themselves. In the vineyards, as well as in all subsequent processes, one is guided with expert hands and always with a smile and a ready answer for all questions – whether they are qualified or less qualified. Lovely, pure, flavorful, mineral, dense, and tight champagnes with fine bubbles. In short: Champagne, precisely as one would desire!
