CHATEAU LATOUR

Château Latour (1st Growth) is located in the Pauillac appellation in the heart of the prominent wine regions of the Médoc peninsula, approximately 50 km northwest of Bordeaux. Beautifully spread out on some of Pauillac's finest soils, the legend takes its origin. The castle's best terroir, l’Enclos, overlooks the estuary of the Gironde River, which over centuries has bestowed the estate's soils with geological complexity and ensures a mild climate on a daily basis. Read more

Since 1993, the estate has been owned and managed by the Pinault family, now under the name Artemis Holdings. Since the acquisition, the management has consistently made significant changes to maintain Château Latour's pursuit of the highest quality that the terroir can offer.

Château Latour produces three red wines: Their Grand Vin, the 1st wine Château Latour 1st Growth, the 2nd wine Les Forts de Latour, and a 3rd wine simply called Pauillac (or Le Pauillac de Château Latour), released every year since 1989.

The estate's 2nd wine, Les Forts de Latour, takes its name from a historical parcel in l’Enclos. The wine was first bottled under this name in 1966. Les Forts de Latour is produced with the same meticulous care as the 1st wine, both in the vineyards and in the cellars. The only difference, aside from the parcels, is the proportion of new barrels used in the aging process.

Sustainable farming is a high priority at Château Latour. In 2013, 24 hectares were cultivated biodynamically, while 7 hectares were organically cultivated. The entire vintage of the l’Enclos parcel in 2015 was organically grown, with 50% of the vines being biodynamic. Since 2019, all of Château Latour's vineyards have been certified as 100% organic.
