Château La Fleur de Gay is the "sister" property of Château La Croix de Gay.
The property belongs to Raynaud-Lebreton family; one of the oldest family in Pomerol with roots that goes back to 15th century.

The wine of Château La Fleur de Gay is the blend of three plots, which gave its name to the château, from the high terrace of Pomerol, with exceptionnal wine-growing skills:

  • The plot of La Fleur on the "buttonhole" of pure clay of Pétrus,
  • The plot of Gay located on the very thick coat of gravel of Günz located on the west of Château Lafleur,
  • The plot of Groupey neighboring the high part of Château Trotanoy and Le Pin, on high grain size gravels from Günz with clay subsoil.

The wine of Château La Fleur de Gay comes from willingness to enhance this terroir in an approach at once from Burgundy and from Bordeaux:

  • From Burgundy by expression of selected plots; maybe the three greatest terroirs of Pomerol like Grands Crus from Côte de Nuits.
  • From Bordeaux by their synergistic blend (strength from Gay, delicacy and finesse from Groupey, and spices from Lafleur).

Andreas Larsson tasting notes: "Medium bodied with good density of fruit, gentle extraction, elegant wild fruit, violet and spicy notes, long and juicy finish".
