2014 Chateau La Pointe
France / Bordeaux / Pomerol Rouge
Château La Pointe has a beautiful dark colour. Intense scents of red fruits mixed with elegant woody hints. Dense start, nice mid-palate, and gorgeous finish.
The Wine Cellar Insider/Jeff Leve tasting notes (February 2017): "Medium bodied, elegant, fresh, soft textured wine, with a sweet, plum and cherry core of fruit, hints of thyme, espresso, flowers and dark chocolate. This should be easy to drink young. The wine was made from a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc".
Primeurs tasting comments by Hubert de Boüard de Laforest (March 2015): “Deep colour with purple tints. The nose is remarkably pure and bursting with slightly spicy notes of black fruits. The palate is smooth, juicy and round on the attack developing more density and structure on the mid-palate. The tannins are nicely positioned, tight, and well-integrated. The fresh and ethereal finish is supported by good complexity and persistence owing to the proportion of Cabernet Franc in the blend".
