2016 Chateau La Croix Saint-Georges
France / Bordeaux / Pomerol Rouge
The vineyard of Château La Croix St-Georges is remarkably situated on the gravel of the high terrace, between those of Vieux Château Certan, Château Petit-Village, and Le Pin.
Inified and matured by Jean-Philippe Janoueix the wine of La Croix Saint-Georges, features exceptional softness and great finesse.
Blend:
95% Merlot for roundness, fullness, and fruit aromas and
5% Cabernet Franc for elegance and structure.
The Wine Cellar Insider/Jeff Leve tasting notes vintage 2016 (September 2019): "Truffle, flowers, smoke, vanilla, and licorice are on equal terms with the ripe plum and cherries found here. Soft and round on the palate, with silky tannnins, the wine will be much better with 6-8 years of aging".
Joseph Janoueix is a family home of world renown, built over five generations in a spirit of tradition and quality. At the head of 18 estates they cultivate more than 200 hectares of vines with the passion of a job well done.
