In the Fugue de Nénin 2017, the Merlots on the part of the Pomerol plateau that is mainly clayey offer unctuosity and structure, whereas the Merlots on the gravelly-sandy terroirs bring the finesse and roundness. As for the Cabernet Francs, they are once again decisive on these same great terroirs, bringing a pleasant balance to the first wine blend, marrying power, elegance, and complexity.
James Suckling tasting notes (January 2020): "Very attractive red with crushed-berry aromas and salty, red-fruit flavors. Medium body. Very fine tannins. Bright and vivid. Shows good energy for the second wine. Better after 2021".
