Krug stands tall among Champagne's elite, renowned for its opulent wines sought after by collectors worldwide. Established in 1843 by Joseph Krug, hailing from Germany's Mosel region, who honed his craft at Jacquesson, a prominent Champagne house of the era.

Krug embraced a radical philosophy, rejecting the notion of a Champagne hierarchy. Instead, he pioneered the creation of a supreme wine, the Grande Cuvée, meticulously blending a selection of reserve wines crafted separately by growers.

This exquisite blend, comprising 120 wines from over 10 vintages, including treasures from the Krug Library, rivals esteemed counterparts like Dom Pérignon and Cristal. Aged for six years, it boasts intricate notes of brioche and spice.

Today, Krug maintains its tradition of vinifying wines by plot and storing them in its revered library. An annual tasting committee, led by the chef de cave, meticulously crafts the final blend. The library houses reserve wines spanning up to 50 years, sourced from Krug's own vineyards of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier.

Beyond the iconic Grande Cuvée, Krug produces a range of Champagnes, including a non-vintage rosé and a vintage selection reserved for exceptional years. Additionally, the esteemed house offers two rarities from exclusive walled plots: Krug Clos du Mesnil and Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, showcasing the epitome of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, respectively.

As part of the Moët Hennessy group, Krug's headquarters in Reims are complemented by a new winery under development at the Clos d'Ambonnay, slated to debut in 2023.
