2014 Domaine Laurent Pere et Fils N-St-G Les Quatre Vignes

Since 2009 and 2010, Dominique Laurent and his son Jean have leased three Village plots in Nuits-Saint-Georges, once cultivated and managed by Henri Jayer (1922-2006) during his lifetime, and currently owned by the Jayer family.
Henri Jayer is renowned among critics and locals alike as the preeminent winemaker of his generation.
 
After several years of restoration and maintenance, father and son harvested the plots for the first time in 2013, producing the so-called Jayer Gold alongside one of their own parcels with century-old vines. The harvest from these four plots laid the foundation for their uniquely exceptional wine, Les Quatre Vignes.

Dominique and Jean replicated Jayer's winemaking process, using 100% de-stemming and exclusively new barrels.
 
The 2014 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Quatre Vignes from Domaine Laurent Père & Fils represents the second release of this special wine.
The deep brick-red, richly textured wine swirls elegantly in the glass, offering an enticing bouquet of ripe black cherries, blackberries, and blackcurrants. With the initial sniff, the wine releases aromatic waves of violet, leather, and forest floor, with a meaty undertone that adds depth.
The silky tannins that caress the palate make the wine exceptionally easy to enjoy. The pleasant, mature aromas that echo those on the nose, combined with its full-bodied, almost muscular texture, create a truly exceptional experience. A wine that is both grand and subtly elegant.
