The 11.4 hectare vineyard, also written Beaumonts, is a patchwork straddling the commune boundaries of Flagey-Echézeaux and Vosne-Romanée (convention dictates that wines from the former are labeled as the latter) at the western (upper mid-slope) end of the vineyard belt on the of the Côte d'Or hillside.
The large patchwork of vineyards on the upper mid-slope just above the Echézeaux Grand Cru site, Les Beaux Monts even claims a corner of the Grand Cru for itself.

Les Beaux Monts is a 1er Cru vineyard of the Vosne-Romanée appellation in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or heartland. This vineyard is planted entirely to Pinot Noir, making a full-bodied yet elegant wine with ripe fruit characters.

Les Beaux Monts is one of the larger 1er Cru climats in Vosne-Romanée (and in the Côte de Nuits itself) but it is also well-situated and well-respected. Furthermore, it boasts a raft of top quality producers making wines from its vines.
