2021 Chateau de la Maltroye Chas.-Mtr. 1er Cru La Boudriotte
France / Burgundy / Cote de Beaune / Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Rouge
Château de la Maltroye Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte Rouge.
Burghound.com/Allen Meadows 91/100 + Outstanding: "An ultra-fresh nose freely offers up an array of red berries, just turned earth and a touch of forest floor. Here too there is very good richness to the solidly concentrated and relatively powerful medium-bodied flavors that deliver fine length on the balanced and dusty finish. This is quite rich and while it has the stuffing to age successfully, it could also be enjoyed young if desired".
La Boudriotte is a small Premier Cru vineyard site of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation in Burgundy. Located just southeast of Chassagne-Montrachet village, this gently sloping, eastfacing vineyard may produce red wines from Pinot Noir and white wines from Chardonnay.
La Boudriotte lies within the grounds of Morgeot Abbey and is one of over 20 subdivisions of the more famous Morgeot Premier Cru. Its wines are more often labeled with the latter designation – as is permitted under the appellation laws.
