Smoky white Orchard fruit aromas enjoy added breadth in the form of orange peel, anise, and a hint of rosemary oil. The exceptionally rich, even opulent flavors, possess a highly seductive texture that contrasts moderately with the youthfully austere, palate staining and impressively persistent finish. This well-balanced effort should repay up to a decade of keeping.
 
Jean-Pierre Cournut unequivocally called 2022 "a great vintage". It is more precise than 2020 and more readable as well in terms of the underlying terroir.
 
Burghound.com/Allen Meadows tasting notes (June 2024): "A Monopole situated within Maltroie. Aromas of freshly sliced pear, apple, rosemary oil, and a whiff of petrol are set off by an admirably subtle touch of oak. There is once again excellent vibrancy to the dense but well-detailed medium weight flavors that exude a subtle bead of minerality on the compact, complex, lengthy, and impeccably well-balanced finale. Excellent and clearly built-to-age. 2032+".
