2022 Chateau des Quarts Pouilly-Fuisse 1er Cru Monopole Clos des Quarts
France / Burgundy / Maconnais / Pouilly-Fuisse Premier Cru Monopole Blanc
Clos des Quarts is a Monopole vineyard due to the wall which surround it.
The Clos des Quarts parcel became classified as a 1er Cru with the vintage 2020.
Several important critics have rated this Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru wine highly.
The nose evokes aromas of white-fleshed fruit. On the palate, the wine is fresh, dynamic, and elegant, with a nice saltiness on the finish. Persistent and wellbalanced.
The white Pouilly-Fuissé Aux Quarts 1er Cru Clos des Quarts Monopole is produced as a joint venture between Olivier Merlin and Dominique Lafon.
Born in 2012 from the association between Dominique Lafon and Olivier Merlin, convinced of the exceptional terroir of the Clos des Quarts, the Château des Quarts is located in the village of Chaintré, the southernmost village of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, and its oldest vines have been planted since 1917, on an area of two hectares and 24 ares.
Overlooking the Saône valley, this beautiful plot is protected by a high stone wall, which puts it in a Monopole situation.
